Policy - Processing of personal data in connection with the installation and
use of the APP[1]
In
compliance with Article 13 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 - General Data
Protection Regulation (GDPR), Fiera Milano S.p.A. (hereinafter also referred to
as “Fiera Milano”) intends to provide information on the processing of the
User’s personal data in connection with the use of the Exhibition Application
(hereinafter also referred to as the “APP”), carried out by Fiera Milano
itself, as Data Controller, under the terms set out in the relevant Terms and Conditions of Use, to which reference should be made for any further
details[2].
The use of
the Application requires registration (FieraID) and entails the collection of
only the technical information, meaning the identification given during the
installation of the APP, necessary to ensure and verify its correct operation
(for example, in the event of errors or irregularities), as well as the data
necessary to provide, where requested, the services made available also to
non-registered users (such as, subject to the user’s consent, the data relating
to the User’s enjoyment of the APP). Without such data, the APP cannot function
and provide the services requested by non-registered users.
In case of
registration to the APP, the user will be required to provide certain personal
data marked as mandatory (name, surname, email address, area of interest,
country, province), which are necessary in order to process the registration
request and activate the account by sending the related authentication
credentials (see further information provided with the registration form). Registration
is useful in order to fully utilize the services available in the APP:
scheduling appointments with exhibitors, attending seminars/webinars online (if
provided), adding conferences/meetings to your agenda, saving preferences
related to exhibitors and their presented products, chatting between exhibitors
and visitors as well as between exhibitors, and allowing exhibitors to collect
visitor data by scanning the entry pass available in the app (the transmitted
data is subject to the visitor's acceptance of 'third-party data sharing'
during the registration process). Failure to provide, even partially, the above
data will result in the inability to register and access the services offered
and reserved for registered users only.
Processing
of the User’s personal data for the purposes outlined above is therefore
necessary for the performance of both his or her request for installation of
the APP and possible registration, and the contract (see Terms and Conditions
of Use) concerning the related services, as well as for the pursuit of
legitimate interests by Fiera Milano in the performance of related
organisational, administrative, technical and security activities. The data
will not be disclosed and will be processed mainly by means of computerised
procedures using instruments that guarantee security and confidentiality. It
may also be made known to employees and collaborators of Fiera Milano
authorised to process the data and/or to companies that carry out technical and
organisational activities on behalf of Fiera Milano, in their capacity as Data
Processors (such as providers of IT and internet services). The User’s personal
data shall not be transferred to companies located outside the EU. For the
aforementioned purposes, Fiera Milano shall retain personal data for the time
required to manage the APP installed by the User and to provide the services
requested by the latter, as well as for the time required by current
legislation for administrative and technical purposes.
The GDPR
(Articles 15-22) grants the following to User, as a Data Subject: the right to
request access to personal data concerning him or her; the portability of the
data provided, if subject to automated processing on the basis of consent or
contract; the rectification and/or integration of data, if inaccurate or
incomplete; the erasure of personal data or the restriction of their
processing, if the conditions are met; the right to object to their processing
for reasons related to his or her particular situation. The Data Subject’s
right to lodge a complaint with the personal data watchdog remains unaffected,
should he or she deem it necessary for the protection of his or her rights.
